Do you archive old threads?

This would be where you basically store them in an archive where people can read them and their replies but can no longer reply to them.

Why would anyone need to archive forum threads?

I don’t archive nor prune old threads as I tend to keep them in their designated forums. I don’t see a reason to archive them nor lock them down. If a thread isn’t breaking the forum’s rules, then it should remain open for discussion.

I'm the same way.

I've never understood locking old topics. I mean, if someone wants to contribute to them, what is it going to hurt to bring it back?

Especially if the topic was popular and has a lot of pages. In all honesty, I would think that would be a good thing. It makes your topics look active and big to those visiting your down and considering membership.
