Attracting Niche Experts to Join Your Forum

How have you been attracting experts in your niche or industry to join your forum?

If your forum has more members who are known experts in your niche, other people will join to be closer to these experts. But experts are usually not waiting in line to join every forum in the industry.

How would you encourage them to join your forum?
 
I have a few game developers on my forum, and honestly, I hadn’t gone out of my way to recruit them, they found their way in through me promoting their games on social media and adding them to my directory.


The best way to bring in any expert is by building a community that’s worth their time. Provide a space where they can connect, share knowledge, answer questions, and be recognized for their expertise, and make sure you’re welcoming and helpful.



Word of mouth is huge. If someone likes your community, they’ll naturally tell their friends, and when there’s a recognized expert participating, it adds that “it” factor that makes more people want to be a part of it.

How do you make your forum attractive to the game creators? Do they get any special benefit that is exclusive to them?

My directory makes it’s attractive. We’ve referred over 500 users to various games in my niche, so it serves as a haven for games that want to grow. I also sticky their topics in our sneak peaks forum. Which is something I also do for regular users.

In fact, a new game opened up a few months ago and after adding it to my directory, they now have 100 new players.

I don’t play favoritism with anyone, game owner, or regular user. They all get the same benefits and treatments.
