Do you allow images to be attached into member signatures on your forum?

Can they hot link images or msy they upload them?

Do you have size, quantity, or image style requirements or limitations?

I have used my forum signature to advertise on several forums. There are some where they allow both images and links too but for the images, they always have a required size of image allowed which I think is a good decision.

Which one do you think is more effective for advertisement on forum signature between images and links?

Also images are annoying on signatures. It's like having a permanent Ad like google AdSense.(or worst)
I consider it a bad practice from the user, and terrible experience for the reader.
A small banner doesn't tend to bother me, but huge flashy ones are hard to stomach at times.

There's nothing wrong with an image but most forum rules set max dimensions for sigs. I have had to contact a few people in the past to review their sigs for massive images.

Generally I do not.
But on the astro site I do as even I use a link image that actually is not an "ad" for my site or anything like that (and those will be moderated if I find them).
It is a fairly updated animated image of cloud cover in my area that I do captures at.

But it also why I allow users to turn the visibility of signatures off for when they are reading.
