Do any of you plan your forum content like a blogger would plan their content?

Basically, that means creating a content calendar, research for future topics, keeping a strong list of topic ideas that you will post about, and following a specific cornerstone content or pillar content strategy.

In blogging, this is a very successful strategy.

I feel the same strategy can easily be applied to forums.

Is this something you practice for your forum? Why or why not?

This is something I used to try and practice for my forum, but I soon found it became too much for the topics I had planned, which I soon felt would not be suitable, and I ended up scrapping them.

I tend to now, especially with my general chat forum, post in the moment things such as trending news, discussions for trending topics at the time, and I find that works better.

I think it's difficult to do it for a general forum. I run one myself and its spur of the moment or current events on how new content is made.

But for a niche forum like this one or gaming or something specific like that, I feel like this strategy could be beneficial for some admins, maybe not all admins, but some who need some kind of organization in their lives.
