For those on CloudFlare, they have a known issue that they are working on resolving. Many sites that use CloudFlare proxy service are experiencing issues.

My big blog is on Cloudflare. It's down.

Nothing else is on it right now.

Hoping they find the issue and get it fixed, soon. Looks like everything is down that uses it.

In events like these, is it easier for forums to kill cloudflare's nameservers temporary or would that cause issues bringing it back when it comes back up?

I think the main issue is if you use the proxy service. That was what was down. If you disable the proxy then it bypasses their infrastructure (other than DNS services) and goes directly to your site. I didn't really worry about it that much as I figured they'd have it back up before I woke up.

They got it up pretty quickly. My blog was back pretty fast. I saw that a very unusual number of people were on it before it went down.

Yeah, I think the issue will be what I had commented on here and other sites about the sudden influx of bots that are hiding themselves as browsers and actually coming in from end user ISP devices, and most coming from what are considered 3rd world countries. There has recently been a BIG increase in it and I've found that I had to add several more countries into my CF managed challenge rule.

This ruleset normally nets around 1000 at most in a 24 hour period. You can see that it's quite a bit more than that number for the previous 24 hours and has been on an increase.
Of the 4.29K connections, only 3 solved the challenge.

EDIT:
Just to put this into perspective. This one rule, since I posted this has increased to this now.

That's about 10 a minute. No, not that big of a deal, but this is also a slow period right now. Between all my managed challenge rules that I have in use (ASN/country) I am sitting at 28.27k challenges so far today. And mine is a small, not that well known site. Oh, and there has only been 12 that solved the challenges so far.
