Do you give active members the option to delete their own posts?

I'm not talking about those who demand you delete their posts. I'm talking about actual active members with the ability to control the forum and delete their own content. Is this something you allow on your forum?

If yes, why is this? If not, why not? What problem would it cause?

I am of the opinion that members should be giving that opportunity to delete what they have posted. I believe that it is a sign that members have a bit of control over what they post.

Allowing members to delete their posts comes with advantages and disadvantages. In terms of advantages, when they accidentally posted a sensitive information, they can delete it, without a hitch. On the other hand, it can be bad for the forum. When a new member joins and there are missing replies, it looks broken or incomplete. Maybe you can allow the deletion but with restrictions.
