    @Shawn Gossman yes, that's what I mean. In this case, if you want to secure the "brand" for your cycling.forum, you should own cyclingforum.com even if you run the forum under cycling.forum (for better branding or for short) So, from this perspective, yes, the .com still is the king.

    I would say that a marketplace is a must on any community. Members all the time have something to sell or buy. But this area needs special attention to prevent scams.

    I don't like to lock old threads, unless it's outdated/out of time/not valid any more. if the thread was open, and a user posted on it. I would simple lock it after it. And basically thank the user for letting me know/notice that outdated topic.
