    Those Promotion Guys

Not sure how many people do this, but it's an interesting perspective. I've seen some people sell their forums in the past, but then come right back. It is kind of weird though, but I'm guessing they were hurting for money?

Google: Not all sites will fully recover with future core algorithm updates

Google will however keep working to reward content creators; but not all deserve to rank well at this point. When Google launched the March 2025 core update last week, Google said there will be a series of improvements aimed to help “better surface relevant, satisfying content” from content...

    Once Popular Forum, Now Gone

I haven't no, but theadminzone looks like it's trending that way. It's a shame that there's a lot of inactive forums running on the internet. Once its sold, it's generally not the same forum after that.

    Not upgrading

I agree. I keep all my add ons updated. If there's not any current updates for a long time, then I'll scrap the add on. I don't need out dated code running on my forum. I also keep my add ons to a minimum as it creates a lot of bloat and extra queries if you're running too many.

    Cloudflare Alternatives

I think it's because Cloudflare is more well known and a lot of web developer choose them for security & caching systems. Cloudflare originally worked on the Alexa(radar system). Their team also has a lot of experience working for other companies, so I'd say that sets them apart on that ground...

    Not upgrading

I haven't done this before, but I haven't renewed my XF license yet. I'm currently running the latest version, so I'm just waiting for the next major release. Most of my add ons and themes have been fully compatabile with prior versions.

    Cloudflare Alternatives

Keycdn CDN services - KeyCDN, Akamai, Fastly, Sucuri, Stackpath, CDN77, Cloudfront, Cloudbric and Imperva are all the well known cloudflare alternatives. I haven't tried any of them out though, but most of them have the same features, if not more than what Cloudflare provides.

    Is AI hurting your blog?

It really is starting to seem like that. Google is rolling out AI overviews, but you can disable this option. There’s also chatgpt and a few other ai chat systems that users are using for search as well.

AI posts make you lose motivation...

I recently came across this article, https://thereasonforeverything.com/why-most-independent-content-creators-will-not-survive-the-next-5-years/ You feel it already, don’t you? You’re working twice as hard—more research, more hours, more strategy. Your content is better than ever. Yet instead...

    Backup Your Forum!

Once a week isn’t too shabby. It’s also a good idea to store your backups off site as well, so you always have another backup(emergency). I generally store backups on a drive now.

    Whois privacy

Of course. I always have my whois privacy enabled. I don’t think it’s a great idea for having everyone know where you live. It’s a privacy feature and it’s a good thing to have it enabled.
