I delete as soon as I see it although not much gets past the Invision built in spam system.
I see a popular admin forum that seems to like the spam they get. I see more spam posts in the new posts. I guess content is content even if it is spam.
That's a problem. If they don't change they will die. The group they target is getting smaller. At some point they will be gone. Some of that old group have already moved on knowing the software they use will never change. Sad really.
What's interesting is with modern scripts the moderation is built into it in what they call a trust system. When I was first introduced to it on my Discourse site I didn't think it would work. It does. In fact, on most Discourse powered sites, that' how moderation works.
The system is simple. A...
Yes the platforum is old and dated. LIke anything else if you don't change you are left behind. The loyal users for those scripts are a small group of people and getting smaller all the time. They want to you to beleive that forums are fine like they are. In reality the opposite is true.

Forums will never be what they were. They can still be a haven for the people that get disgruntled with social media. That number is growing daily. I shutdown my accounts almost 2 years ago. Got tired of the spam and mindless drivel in my timeline. Don't get that with forums.
My response would be the same either way. I would be polite and to the point. Best way to handle those situations is to remain calm and think about what you say before you say it.

I use Adguard ad blocker so I never see any ads. I know a few sites use those ads. I am guilty of it myself. I didn't like them. Used to leave a site as soon as one popped up.
They bring in a lot of money so I turned them on. Don't know why they make money they just do.
I turned them on at...
I generally get some content in it before I promote it. Try to build it then open it. I'm in the process of doing this now. I have to create the software for it. This is something I haven't done in years. My C# and .Net skills are a bit rusty so it's taking a while.
That's how I feel about it. I had a good debate about social media promotion a few years back. I did an experiment. I posted daily on Twitter and Facebook and dropped a link to the thread about it on my forum. Seconds after posting the online users would so crazy. Minutes later back to normal...
Looking back at the old Admin Addict, I have it running on localhost to see the exact date, first Community of the Month was July 2007. While there may have been some done before they were not well known or on what were the main forum admin sites.
TAZ, Admin Addict and Admin Extra were the...
Forum of the month started with Admin Addict. They were the first to do it. In fact there was a whole category dedicated to it. While AA is no more Admin Talk is. That's were all of AA went when I combined the 2 sites when I owned them.
