    Choosing MyBB

    I originally started my poker forum with MyBB. I needed a mobile friendly theme so I switched softwares to Xenforo, and I never looked back. I would choose SMF before MyBB if I wanted to use a free forum software.

    My forum is bigger than money. I'd turn down big offers for my poker forum if I receive any in the future. I want to see my goals through, and always own my community.     I started my forum as a dream project. I would never sell even if I received a big offer. I sold a Facebook group in the past in the same niche as my forum, and I learned the hard way how easy it is for a community to turn on you. I had to grind for my community back, and prove my doubters...

    I try to make sure I always have backups. It's extremely important, especially if your site has a ton of content/members. I have lost my site in the past due to not taking regular backups, I'll never let it happen again. Has it happened to you?

    Members Warn You About Your Staff

    I had somebody I partnered with/promoted their site, and I was told he was a registered sex offender. I ran away from that site, he blasted me all over social media, calling me a scammer afterwards, and a bunch of names. I ignored it, and continued to prove any doubters wrong.
