Pretty much every major release, WordPress puts out a new theme and names it after the current year.
What do you all think about these default themes? Are any of you using them at all as your main theme? Or do you always change the theme to something else?
Are any of you using AMP for WordPress at all?
AMP allows for people on mobile devices to read and view your blog better.
You can even enable AdSense to display on AMP.
Are any of you using AMP at all?
Which software do you prefer for the "blogging" aspect of how each software performs and provides?
I'm not asking to compare apples to oranges here. Ignore the CMS features of WordPress and just consider the blogging component.
WordPress software versus Ghost software!
Has anyone ever accused you of spamming your forum?
If so, why did they say that you spammed? What was your response to them? How did you justify what you did as something other than spamming?
How do you feel about promotion forums?
Are they just a scam to get you to post and become active on their forum in exchange they allow you to promote your forum?
Are you just promoting to a bunch of people who are just there to promote their own forum?
There really isn't a real audience...
What is working for growing your forum in 2025 that you hadn't tried before or simply didn't work in the past?
Do you look for new ways to grow your forum at all?
Are there any blogs out there that you're an active guest contributor on?
I'm not talking about just posting one guest blog. I'm talking about a blog where you actively publish multiple guest blogs and are a regular contributor.
Have you ever bought out another blog within your niche?
Was this blog competition? Is that why you bought it out?
What did you do with it? Did you keep running it as a standalone blog? Did you merge it with your own blog? Or did you shut it down?
Have any of you ever had members who don't take forum warnings very well?
If so, tell us about it. What's your story? Did the member freak out? Did you end up having to ban them?
On average, how well do most of your members take getting a rule violation warning from you or your staff team?
Do you allow images to be attached into member signatures on your forum?
Can they hot link images or msy they upload them?
Do you have size, quantity, or image style requirements or limitations?
Do you run your forum like a dictatorship?
Meaning, you make all the decisions solely because you own the forum. You don'y give your members a voice or decision in any sort of decisionmaking.
It's hard to label forums as dictatorships but if you really look at them, most of them have that...
Have you ever found another blog out to have copy and pasted your blog content on their blog as their own content?
If so, what did you do about it? Can we really do much about it? How about if the thief is in another country?
What do you put on your about page?
This question can be for both online community and blog admins.
What content do you feel is important content to be placed on an about page and why?
Potentially in the near future.
Just lost my dad, and my motivation is really low right now. I'm working on some things and hoping to get back to my normal self soon.
I think gamification is an important feature.
I used to be a community manager on a big paid community that uses Circle. Circle introduced gamification features, and it has turned into a hit. People like it. It creates a goal for posting and engaging, and being helpful in the community.
I...
Definitely good to set your own goals.
The goal of AAF is being achieved. I just want to make a community that gradually grows on its own, and each time I visit, a few good conversations are happening.
That's pretty much occurring, so I'm achieving a continuous goal.
