I was striving for at least once per week, but now it's been a little over a month since my last post. It's been busier than usual and I haven't found the time to go over some posts I've been working on.
But I'm close to getting one done and soon I'll have some more time to get more posts out.
I mainly comment if I'm interested in the post and want to know more or have some questions. And if there is a section for a URL, yeah I'll throw it in :sneaky:.
However there have been quite a few where I needed to be approved. And I'm still waiting...
I definitely wouldn't. I might update it if it needs it but I'd leave it.
I've come across some blog posts through a search that might have helped me with research or solve a problem only to find that it leads to a 404.
I have a few categories right now and plan on adding more, as soon as I have topics for them.
I've seen some blogs that had like 30, which felt overwhelming to me.
Yeah, I've been part of forums that didn't do anything but focus on content/discussions and still thrived. That could also be a testament to the software,
At the time I would say advertising. I think if I kept it going, SEO would have made a bigger impact. I started to see an increase in traffic from search results.
I've been working on PHP, specifically customizing my wordpress site so this is a good resource to have.
The common one for me is the deprecated warnings; lot of outdated stuff out there.
It was an entertainment forum (games, music, movies) but there was more of an emphasis on music.
Yeah, it took me a while to figure out what was working for advertising.
I've been with a few hosts where the pricing was very enticing, but once I got a site running there seemed to be performance issues and not a lot of support available.
I do know some hosts offer cheap hosting if you don't mind doing everything yourself which can work out.
I think you meant wordpress.org?
I just think it's too large for it to completely go away, but I could see a scenario where features are developed exclusively (or at least prioritized) for WordPress.com to entice users to go that route.
I follow other blogs, forums, newsletters, etc. to keep in the loop for different tech out there. If I'm interested enough, I take notes and start exploring it more.
