    It's good to participate in those contests as long as the forum owner has a clear goal and meets it. I think a lot of those contests aren't planned well, and while they benefit the winner, they don't often benefit the forum.

    I agree, personally. If the moderators are not more active than the members, there is no example being set. It's why I have trouble deciding to actually add moderators to my forums. Aside from a few, many just go silent afterwards.

    I've seen it a few times over the years, more on social media. People usually do it for attention, but if that's what they want, then try to give it to them. Some people probably really need help and are crying out. I was in a dark place once, but I had left the internet at that point.

    I feel the same way. I'm just not interested in being the top competition. I'm interested in community. If people have websites and they want to share them, then so be it.

    That would be annoying. I wonder if you could gate a better download. They can join and download (or not join and download) the resource but if they want the better resource, they have to hit a certain number of posts.

    You've done a good job making them blend in and keeping them unique. I think you are the main one that uses them at least on a forum that has a good amount of realistic activity.

    Well, if you don't smoke or excessively drink, I think you're on the right path! :) Just take strong illness seriously. Lost my dad in August because he decided to not go get checked. Simple antibiotics would have saved him. :(
