How many websites are on your VPS?
How many that you run, I'm asking?
Are they all forums? Blogs? Both? Other?
Is there a limit to how many websites you should have on your VPS?
Which was better?
When it was Twitter or now that it's X?
I'm speaking in terms of using it to promote your blog or forum.
Why was or is it better or worse than one and the other?
Do you ever feel like all your hard work in engaging and promoting your forum or blog was for nothing?
Maybe you're not getting the views, readers, comments, posts, or members that you had hoped for after busting your butt promoting. Maybe you're getting some, but it feels like you're getting...
What are the worst niches to promote?
This can be for forums and blogs. What niches to you absolutely hate to try to promote or would dread promoting if you had to?
Why is this? What makes these niches so unpromotable?
Could free speech ever really work on a forum?
I'm talking about no restrictions on speech at all. Of course, following the laws of where the forum is located in terms of free speech is a must but allowing members to freely say what they want within the legal realms.
Is this possible on a...
How do you all feel about the tactic of requiring new forum members to introduce themselves to the rest of the community?
You could make it to where new user groups could only post on the introduction board and then be approved to post in the rest of the community after that. I've seen some...
Have you ever had to get the police involved in a forum or blog related incident?
I've heard of forum owners calling the police on members who threaten to commit suicide on the forum. I've even heard that the police in the member's town tracked them down and visited their home for a welfare...
Unexplained Talk is dedicated to exploring the unexplained. Whether it's paranormal, conspiracy, or other fringe discussions, Unexplained Talk invites others to speculate on these topics. We talk UFOs, Bigfoot, Cover-ups, and more!
I stayed outside. I know not a lot of people got that option, but I'm way out in the country, where I can go to remote places and never see a soul. I did write more but I made sure I got outdoors every chance I got, too.
It depends on your niche, really.
But definitely many gradients and shades and you need to align it with your values of course but also some topics are easier to get out of hand than others.
I'm started a paranormal/conspiracy niche forum. It's a topic I've always enjoyed.
I've thought about replacing Smilies and icons with Alien-UFO type graphics to theme it more.
Is this something you all do as well? Or do you leave it default?
How long will you allow a topic to go off topic?
Will you allow the discussion to be off topic for as long as it goes? Or do you try to intervene and ask that everyone gets back to the main topic of the thread?
Do you think a forum that allows off topic chatter in on topics threads looks bad...
When COVID was ramping up, did you find yourself blogging more?
I know I did. I wrote a lot. I probably wrote a few blog posts a day. I believe that was back when I was blogging every day on two blogs.
I think I was also freelance writing more back then, as well.
How about you all? Did you...
I see now.
I thought it was more like DIVI.
However, I still kind of like the idea of it. I've always wanted to create my own WP theme. So, maybe this might be a helper for that. Thanks for the information @JWeb :)
I've seen this happen a lot.
I've even been on the end of one of those. Fed up with the forum owner's tactics and started my own forum to compete in the process. I don't have a profit goal, either, so I can give so much stuff away that the competition will charge for which made people favor my...
I mean on your blog.
Like allowing other bloggers to post blogs on your blog. Usually, they send me the article and I publish it under a Guest Blogger user account.
