Anonymous Forum Admins

Anonymous forum administrators.

No one knows who the forum admin is. They choose the name "Admin" and put no self-identifying information on the forum or internet of whom they are.

They use an additional account to be their posting account and will never tell that they're the admin.

Is something like this warranted? Would it be better for the culture? Have any of you done this at all?

I have always been wary of forums that have an anonymous admin. You don't see it too often now, but I have in the past seen forums in which the admin was simply called, as you stated, Admin, and they were very secretive. I feel this is just off-putting, and it is definitely something that would turn me away from a forum.
