Banned Username

Do banned members get a banned banner under their name on your forum or a strikethrough their username on profile/post display?

Do you think it's a good idea to show that in public or should that member's information be hidden completely from the public and only visible to staff?

I ask because showing it is almost like shaming them for being banned in public and could cause even more grief from them and those who might support them.
