Will all forum software eventually be cloud only?

Why or why not?

If that comes to be true, will you keep running a forum on the cloud or are you done with forums?

I don’t believe so. Forum software companies still make a good chunk of money from customers that aren’t using their cloud services.

Why not? If the options are good, everybody will move to it eventually.

It's definitely a rising trend among the very few forum owners we still have.

I just worry that you lose access to the database, or it essentially eventually becomes SaaS.

People lost TikTok in the blink of an eye. It might be back, but that's not a promise. It could still go. If you make everything on rented space (SaaS, Cloud, etc.), you risk losing everything you worked for and their terms likely say there is nothing you can do about it.
