Do you have daily, weekly, and monthly routines related to your forum?

For example:

On a daily basis I try to reply to most posts, create a good discussion topic for each main niche board, and approve anything that needs approval.

Weekly, I do backups of the forum. I also try to visit areas where I promote my forum and hit them up.

Monthly, I update software/addon/theme, go through old backups and delete and do a mew backup.

How about you all?

What is your forum routine?

In some forums I’ve been a staff of in the past, I used to reply to posts daily, keep discussions active and approve content. I also helped guide new members and made sure rules were followed. Having a routine like this really helps the forum run smoothly and keeps the community engaged and organised.

I don't think I will be that comfortable being on a forum where my content is being moderated. I get that it could be to avoid spammers from invading a forum with content, but it is better for a forum owner to handle the way members are allowed into the forum at the point of registering.

I moderate new members to mitigate spam. I don't see anything wrong with it because that alone blocks out most spam.

After they're approved, they can post freely.

I see what you mean. I’d prefer not having my content constantly moderated. It makes sense to stop spam but I think a better approach is to carefully manage who can join the forum in the first place.
