Sometimes, things are not meant to be and there's no need trying to force such. It's not always guarantee that all staff members hired to work in a forum would stay true to their jobs. It doesn't matter if they are paid or not but they have an obligation to fulfil as a staff but they failed at it.

Have you ever demoted a staff member? How long does it take you to make that decision?

I have.

I usually demote them pretty quick when I've actually decided that needs to happen.

They have usually pushed me to that.

Lately, it's been for inactivity on the forum. That to me is a reasonable reason to remove someone from the staff team.

A staff member who's inactive isn't of any good to the community. So, there's no need carrying a dead wood along whom can't be relied on to get things done.

When I see forum owners overlook lazy staff members, it says a lot about their own integrity too.
