Do any of you not care about mobile users?

Do you care about mobile device users, and do you try to ensure your forum is the best for their experience?

Or do you tend to focus more on desktop users?

I care about mobile users. I actually make some changes to my forum a few days ago as my font size was too small for mobile users, so I increased the font size.
This is great.

Some time ago I made a post about a "bug" on XF's media gallery where the X was off my screen so it was difficult to close the image overlay. It turns out it's not really a bug, but me having my display size enlarged to see larger font sizes than typically would be served.

To me, that's almost still a bug.

Maybe they need to develop better features for those who are disabled?

I also have to make the font bigger.

Honestly.. for my niche, most of my users are desktop/laptop followed by mobile and then tablet. When it comes down to it mobile (cell or tablet) is by far the minority of users that access the site.

So I'm a firm believer in targeting what your primary audience partakes from. Granted, mobile still remains important, but for some niches, its a by-product and not the core use.

Maybe they need to actually spend more time in improving the end user benefits and not so much what occurs on the back end that is more admin related?
I realize that is a "strange and disconcerting" thought to the XF developers as they are seem to be fixated on things that bring the end users of our sites no real improvements, but that give a few "dedicated" admins a woody.

You can actually run a pagespeed test and find any accessibility issues that are wrong with your site. It’s not up to xenforo to fix that.
It’s usually template edits that need to be changed.

So, mine suggests this:

Eliminate render-blocking resources Potential savings of 1,460 ms
Largest Contentful Paint element 3,300 ms
Reduce unused CSS Potential savings of 45 KiB
Reduce unused JavaScript Potential savings of 38 KiB
Avoid an excessive DOM size 1,322 elements

Do you think it's all theme related?

Could none of this be due to how XenForo creates their software?

Some of it will be due to XF coding.
But generally, most of those testing sites are targeted towards a more static content and not a forum style format.
And yes, it does have some to do with how the software itself is coded. XF has made some strides in trying to optimize the speed of the script, but even with that there is only so much that they (or any developer) can do.

My WordPress site scored 99 for mobile (PHP based)

My Xenforo site scored 89 for mobile (PHP based)

One of my nodeBB sites scored 92 (it is node.JS based)

and the Discourse site I am currently working on (Ruby on Rails) scored 99

The last one has almost no content so it is not unexpected that it is faster.

I don't think it'd find any accessibility issues with the "bug" I reported as I set my zoom to 120% or something whereas Google probably just sees if it's accessible for 100%, which it is, except for the issue of the div padding pushing the X off the screen when zoomed.

Want an example of how BS some of these "tests" can be?
On my Edge & Steel site, PageInsights gives me a 100. GTMetrix gives me a 66.
Using Pingdom and an Australia based test, I got a 97 on the same site.

Yeah I take most of those sites with a grain of salt.

No one is really giving you a true accurate reading especially if there is a paid plan option.

I never noticed this because I'm always on AAF at home, but it looks like this style is affected by screen zoom too.

You have to pinch it back into place.

The screenshot where the red appears to be wrapped (perfectly) is with screen zoom all the way to the left (I just found it redundant to post that). If screen zoom is set how it is (+1), you'll get the black bar on the right and have to pinch it in.

Good luck.
If it isn't a major issue to the sycophant developers.. especially when it comes to Xenforo 1st party add-ons.. issues with them them are ignored for years by those self-same Xenforo developers , with them not giving much attention to their license holders - who pays their bills - unless it is one of their pet areas. Classic case is XFMG.. it needs many improvements made to it that they seemingly ignore suggestions on. Of course I cannot make any suggestions there since I am now persona non grata, which I really do not mind as I have no respect for the primary developers and certain staff members that are cultish in their actions. And with their BS, I have chosen to not their advance their product other than on other sites that allow making any suggestions without their cult following, but still being able to roast them for their inability to innovate, which I freely do on another site.
It's a sad-sack state of affairs that they are so concerned with the base offering that they have, for years, neglected their 1st party add-ons.
It remains one of the reasons for when I look to scripts for general discussion formats, I still look at the other offerings and have trended towards NodeBB and Discousre if they are primarily discussion related.
