If yes, what is your promotion strategy on X?

i get the impression that it’s primarily far right extremists still using X, as most who din’t condone such extremist would migrate. away due to Elon Musk’s tactics of tweaking algorithms to display biased content.

Do you want extremist content on your forum? If yes, then I think X is an effective way to promote a forum in 2024 and beyond.

Funny you ask this. I did an experiment years back. I called the final result the Twitter effect. I posted the experiment and the results on my blog. I think it is still there buried in the depths.

Long story short in any case I found that if you post a link to your site on Twitter you will instantly get hundreds of visitors. Those visitors will stay for a few minutes, read the post and leave. Not one new member. My conclusion was Twitter will drive traffic to your site. Conversion to members will not happen.

How do you feel the result would be different now that Elon Musk is in charge?

I personally think it's better. The old Twitter was about censoring people and Elon is about free speech. I'm a paid user of Twitter. I support Elon myself. I love the memes and the fact that he doesn't bow down to other governments.
