Forced programming knowledge?

Has running a forum forced you to learn any programming or web development languages at all?

Many forum owners will eventually have to modify code at some point. You'll want to learn the very basics to be able to do it without breaking your forum.

I knew how to code before I started a forum. I still need to learn how to create add-ons for Xenforo, because I have some ideas on how I want to expand my forum, so in that sense I'm forced to expand my programming knowledge, because I own a forum.

I'm not afraid to dive into the code. When I ran UBB way back when I created a bunch of addons. I created a few for vbulletin and IPB as well.

It;s not as hard as one would think. Code is very logical and easy to understand.
