How do you feel about forum portals?

Forum portals are frontpages that act as the homepage or index page of a forum community. They typically showcase two to three columns of sidebars and content. The content might be the latest posts, trending posts, or even articles if the forum has them. The sidebars include everything from navigation to widgets the forum software provides.

Forum portals used to be very popular several years ago, but they're not used as much today.

Do you use a portal for your forum? Why or why?

Visitors want the information they seek yesterday. everything is done at a fast pace. waiting for a portal to open before you get to the meat drives people away.

Didn't use to be that way. In days of old you had to have a portal to give users a look at what was inside.

Back when I had AAF 1.0, I had a portal at first.

It didn't take long before I went to a complete forum.

I might add portals to my forums using free software just for the nostalgia of it. :D

Did you mean to post up a poem? 😆
