Goodbye!

To accompany the Delete Me post I just created, have you ever dealt with members posting Goodbye threads on your forum?

This is usually done when a member gets upset and wants to leave the forum. They'll post a thread stating that they're leaving. We call these Goodbye threads.

Does this ever happen to you? Do you allow the post to stay in the public?

More than I can count. I remove those threads as soon as I see them. A member that posts those are looking for attention and want everyone to beg them to stay. I had a staff member do it. I removed the post and him as well.

I agree with your reply on this, personally.

It's attention getting!

I also remove it and usually set the account to moderate new posts.

If I ever left a forum, I just left.
