Hiding Sections from Guests

Do any of you practice hiding sections of the forum from guest view?

This would be a way to encourage non-members to join and login to view hidden content.

In most cases, you would show the forum but not the content inside.

Do you practice this - why or why not?

Well, to an extent, it might get some of those guests to register and become full members on the forum but how do you account for those users it makes to leave the forum permanently and never come back?

It's why I'm not in support of limiting guest's access to the community contents. The traffic they bring to the community is enough to keep them around.
