Is WordPress Too Bloated for the Average Blogger Now?

WordPress is bigger than it used to be.

What happened to a simple theme, a few pages, some categories, and blog posts?

Now, WordPress is more of a CMS solution than a standalone blogging platform. I feel that Ghost was created in response to this issue.

What do you think? Is it just a big, bloated software now? At least for an average blogger?
