What are you doing offline to advertise and market your forum?

Do you think offline advertising and marketing works for forums?

One of the most effective way to market your forum offline is by word of the mouth. You can tell your friends and family about it while asking them to talk to some of their own friends too.

Flyers could work for promoting a forum if you place them in busy areas. I personally haven’t tried it, but I’ve seen them work in the past for other things.

I've successfully used fliers and business cards at local events for my local cycling forum.

I don't think business cards would work for this forum unless I was somewhere where a lot of forum owners were at, like a forum convention or something of that nature.

Go where your audience is offline, and any advertising method will probably work well.

There’s various webmaster related conventions that are held every year, especially in regards to SEO and other things. These conventions would be a great place to pass out flyers and business cards.

Flyers would work well, especially if you can get them done cheap and put them up in movie theaters or malls. They work for various other businesses, I don’t see why they wouldn’t work for a forum.

It’s cheaper to do that than paying for advertising on social media, target people directly and get your brand name out there.

Even a press release would work as well as it’ll get your forum talked about in the media.
