Blog Profit Paid Membership on Blogs

Bicycling is a popular magazine that reports on various bicycle and cycling related topics.

They offer a premium membership on their blog. You pay X amount per year and then get access to premium articles that they're not posting anywhere else. Those articles are also ad-free.

Do you think most niche bloggers should go this route when trying to monetize their blogs?

Is premium membership a good blog revenue earner these days?

I tried paid content once, about $2 monthly. None paid. I learned that audience must really trust you first, if not, they will go elsewhere to read free gist. So, I think paid membership can work better on niche blogs, like finance or crypto signals.

There definitely has to be value that impacts the pain point of your target audience.

You have to give me a good reason to pay.
