Is premium membership easier to sell on a forum than ads?
Ads aren't easy to sell these days. Most of your ad buyers on a forum are going to be forum owners. The ad may make you money, but it also takes away your members and traffic and puts them on another forum which they might end up liking more than yours. But hardly anyone is in an ad buying mood these days, especially with forums, because it's pretty unknown how effective the ad will be.
Then you have premium membership which I feel like is easier to sell than forum ads. Plus, it keeps your members on your forum and maybe even more active than before since they're paying for it.
How do you all feel about this idea?
