Re-engaging long-time inactive members

How are you re-engaging long-time inactive members?

Your members joined your forum for a reason. At the time, they wanted to be active. Maybe they were active at one time but life or something changed that made them inactive. If they get re-engaged and it works, then you'll get new activity on your forum. An active forum looks better than an inactive forum especially if you're trying to attract new members,

How are you re-engaging inactive members who've been inactive for a long time?

Unless you know them personally or have email that they actually use it is quite impossible to re-engage long time in active members. These days people rarely use their best email to sign up on forums, so it is not possible to get in touch with email.
