Are any of you using social media advertising to promote your discussion forums at all?

For those of you who don't, why is that? Is it just a money thing?

For those of you who do, what platforms are you using to promote your forum? Is it successful at all? Do you do any specific tactics to help make it successful?

I'd love to know what you all think in general about using social media ads for forum promotion!
