When a thread turns into two people arguing or debating over something, do you split the thread into two threads or let ride?
Some threads can be controversial or opinionated enough where members will argue or debate. As long as the debate says respectable, it's usually a good idea to get it continue because it increases your forum engagement.
But sometimes debates can get slightly off topic, and the original post can lose its original value. The thread creator isn't always appreciative about that.
So, what do you do and when do you do it? Split it into two threads or let it go until it ends?
