How do you feel about a forum using the Wikipedia donation tactic?
Have a set goal (typically costs of the domain, server, platforms/theme/addon renewals, and etc) of donations for the year.
A donation drive is done to meet the goal.
No other monetization methods are done after that - just enough to let the forum pay for itself.
Like Wikipedia does!
Do you think this would be a good practice for a forum? Why or why not?
