Do you think WordPress.com will eventually cease to exist and WordPress.com will only be available?

Are these software providers trying to do what they can to force us to their cloud?

I think you meant wordpress.org?

I just think it's too large for it to completely go away, but I could see a scenario where features are developed exclusively (or at least prioritized) for WordPress.com to entice users to go that route.
