Would you sell your forum if you got a reasonable offer?

My forum is bigger than money. I'd turn down big offers for my poker forum if I receive any in the future. I want to see my goals through, and always own my community. I also have a huge vision, and I know there is a ton of potential in my community.

How about you? Would you ever sell your forum?

Yes I would. I did a few times in the past. Every site has a price.

The price would have to be well more than what would probably be offered. So I doubt I'd ever sell mine. It's taken a lot of time and effort to get it to where it is at and I enjoy it too much (doing the tweaking and related stuff).
Some people look at their site as a source of income, others as a labor of love. I fall into that latter category.

I wouldn't really know if I'm going to sell or not until I have a forum that I'm managing currently. I used to have one which I didn't sell when I couldn't keep up with running it, maybe because I never got any offers for it.

One of my goals is to make one of my forums for sale to my competitor that I despise. Either he buys it or his forum dies. He teed me off so it is just business and not for fun for that forum.I see he has his domain for sale . I think he forgot about it being up for sale and the price is a good price for a popular forum in that niche. That might be another way for a nice corporate take over type of action. I do kind of look forward to creating a great knowledge base for people with the same interests with that one though. For the betterment of humanity to distribute knowledge effectively to other people and the right price I would sell if I knew the new owners had the same intentions as me on the other ones I want to create.

I say I'd sell a forum for the right price but reality, I'm like you. I've only ever sold a few and that was mainly to get out of that niche, but I've simply closed more down without even trying to sell in the first place because I couldn't keep them active.

Wasting my time on what I know I can't give my 100% is a no no for me which was why when I found myself in that position with trying to carry everything along with my forum back then, I had to give it up and move on.

I'm very much still open to running another forum in the future. Now, I have more experience to do things the right way.
