Design Choice Flopped

The designs overloaded with widgets and banners were popular but clearly failed due to the enormous saturation they generated in the forums; then the dark backgrounds with light typography also failed, I suppose because in the long run it feels like it hurts the eyes

I'd rather see simple styles with a light and dark option to be honest.
