UBB is said to be the oldest forum software out there. Since 1997!

Have any of you ever used UBB before?

UBB was the first to use the linear format we use now. The first original forum software was wwwboard by Matt Wright. Matt's Script Archive: WWWBoard


Version 2.0 11/04/95 - Complete Re-Write of Version 1.0
- ALPHA 1 Version Released because many people were writing asking if they could get a copy of it.

Not sure when 1.0 was released.

I've never used it, nor do I plan to. But it's very cool to see it's still up.

I forgot that UBB.Threads was originally wwwthreads which was owned by a friend of mine Rick Baker. I had a forum running it. UBB bought it out instead of creating their own mysql layer.
