It's no shocker that content posted on social media with links will typically get less views because they algorithm is working against content that takes users away from the social media platform.

It's understandable, too. They need users to stay on the platform and click ads so that they get paid to keep the platform open. They're not being unfair. They're being a business like anyone else runs their business.

So, we have to improvise as marketers and community/blog operators.

So, because I suck at graphic design and I don't want to pay for it, I have ChatGPT create all my banners for me:

The two above are for my hiking and cycling forums.

I put in copy, eye catching imagery, the easy-to-get-to web address on the image, and a not that it's free.

People like images more than text. They like short-form video more, but an image will still stop the scroll most of the time.

I'll add a little bit on copy to the post like saying membership is free and there are no ads.

I've been doing this for a while now and getting more members from it. Make sure you put the web address in the photo.

Are any of you doing this?

I didn't know that it would get less views, but it does make sense now that you mention it.
Graphics look great. ChatGPT is a great allround tool if you know how to use it properly.
Oh yeah!

Links get way less views. Both X and Facebook typically remove links from the main posts now. The first comments are where you want to insert links at.
