Removing a feature

What feature have you removed from your forum that instantly improved useability or engagement?

Maybe this is a plugin for a certain feature or theme.

After you removed it, how did it improve the forum? Did anyone complain about it?

This reminds me of being on forums where a particular member kept on tagging me on every reply that they made. At a point, I was tempted to send them a dm that it is not a must that I am tagged since the said post that I made was already being quoted. So, I won't mind doing the same once I notice that members are abusing such a feature.

This feature was very well abused on Bizdustry back in the days when the forum was active and I was among the staff members. Even when some members complained, the Co Admin who was doing it didn't stop. It was a crazy experience.

It's just not fair to the members who were tagged because one would log in only to see that their notification is a mess filled with lots of tags. It just didn't make any sense to me at all. Was it removed at Bizdustry back then?
 
It was the reputation plugin that I disabled. And I found out that it made the forum simpler. Some old members missed it. But I explained to them privately.
