    NodeBB was great. Almost as fast as Discourse. Easy to work on. Phorum was like wwwboard only with a combined view of forums with topics inline.

    Back in the days of vbulletin there was a skin site called completevb. They made some of the best skins I ever seen. Those types of designs weren't practical. Too flashy for most users. They were very appealing though.

    Since I only use text banners on the sites I only use text in signatures. I have used images in the past.

    I used to. Then I realized sometimes you just get overwhelmed by all the stats. Too much is sometimes a bad thing.

    Nope. I owned Admin Addict as well as Admin Talk. Merged them both then sold it as popularity started to wain to Crowd Gather.

    Visitors want the information they seek yesterday. everything is done at a fast pace. waiting for a portal to open before you get to the meat drives people away. Didn't use to be that way. In days of old you had to have a portal to give users a look at what was inside.

    I used to charge $75 an hour to manage Windows Servers. That was 20 years ago. Managing them meant I kept the sql, exchange, web and ldap servers all online and functioning. It was a 24/7 job at times. I don't know what the rate would be now a days.
