I'm talking about your Halloween forums, gothic-like forums, horror movie forums, etc.

As long as the option to go back to self-hosted exists. That's really the only time SaaS is a good idea, otherwise you depend on their decisions completely. If they shut down, so do you.

You're right.
I do at times criticize the way forums are becoming. But it's not so much the way we run them, it's the drama that continue to occur in the forum world that I think has really aided to the diminishing of forums.
But I don't think forums are dead.
Been posting away on Cycling Topics to give potential future members plenty to discuss when they join. :)
Also created quite a few social media pages for the forum.
