To be honest, I’m not very picky when it comes to food. I will eat nearly anything, except for exotic dishes. However, after I got sick, there were certain foods that I could no longer have. If I ate them regularly, I could end up in the ER, and there could be complications. Are you particular about the foods you eat?

I am. I'm like a kid when it comes to food.

For example, I won't eat anything with onions. If I find out there is onions in something that I've been eating, I'll quit eating it. LOL.

No way. Only 2 things I don't like. Pickled herring and rice.
I like rice, but pickled herring sounds gross. Not as much as pickled pigs feet sounds, though.

Same here. I won’t eat liver or crawfish, but I’ll eat basically everything else.

I love seafood, but Crawfish is just nasty.

I wouldn’t eat it either🤣
I’ll eat pig feet though as long as it’s fried correctly.

Something about feet in my mouth LOL

Do you mean you don't like pickled herring with rice or you don't like rice at all. I am crazy about rice, I can eat rice for four meals in a day, and 365 days in a year

I could eat rice at least once a week but maybe not every day. Now beans, bring them on LOL

I am not selective when it comes to what I eat, I usually eat anything I can find but at the same time I always ensure it is something healthy.

That's catfish bait.
I don't like the "dirt" taste of them. If I wanted to taste dirt I'd just go out in the back yard and grab a handful!
Liver is also another of mine that I won't eat normally. The only exception is in the giblet gravy for dressing/turkey.
Pretty much everything else I've tried I'll eat. I love fried gizzards and those freak a lot of people out.

We used to go crawdead hunting as kids and eat what we caught. It always had a muddy taste but with a hint of crap-like flavors. :P

That's why they are referred to as mud bugs a lot, besides living in mud they taste like it.
Even the "farm" raised ones do to me. I never put them in any of my cajun food that usually has it. I substitute shrimp usually.

Yes since I'm on a weight loss journey I don't see Junks. I eat only healthy meals. I have ditch fatty and oily meals

I’ll eat crawfish if it’s in a soup, but I won’t eat it if it’s in a bucket or anything like that. Liver is nasty too.

I love fried gizzards. I didn’t like it though when I was younger. I also like fried crab.

I can't do gizzards, liver and onions, onions at all, sauerkraut (but I love cabbage), or anything with visible fat on it.

or anything with visible fat on it.
You don't know what you are missing out on grilled King Salmon then. If it's a good cut, it will have visible fat lines in it... and it tastes OH so good. I don't have it that often ($50+ a pound), but when I do, it's absolutely delicious.

I'm not big on fish.

I do like lobster, shrimp, and crab - you know, the bugs of the sea LOL :P

Yes.

While I'm in Japan and fish, veggies, chicken, etc., is a "breakfast" here, I'm an American (kid) at heart and require my day to start with a traditional American breakfast such as cereal, pancakes, french toast, sausage, bacon, etc.

I have a great wife that understands and cooks mine separately. 😇

That's a good relationship. A mutual understanding of food tastes is important. You shouldn't have to change your tastes to suit each other's needs and culture IMO.

I mean, there is the saying, "When in Rome."

But, she understands where I'm coming from with enjoying the breakfasts that my mom cooked for me. So, respectfully, she does the same, and in turn, I give her the full appreciation and respect that she deserves for taking the time to separate a meal like that.
