Can't make money blogging

Do you think a lot of bloggers quit because they can't make money with their blogs?

Do you feel like there is an expectation that you'll start earning quickly by blogging?

Have you ever quit blogging because of this very thing?

I think some bloggers quit because they lack the time and passion to continue their projects. Blogging isn’t like running a forum. It’s a lot easier to run, so I think some do actually quit because they can’t make money right away.

I think it took me about 4 years to make $100 with my blog. Now I make more than that a month but still not enough to live off of. Diversified income is really the big profit strategy.

Blogging is easy, but you have to treat it like a business if you want to make money from it, stay consistent, and stay organized. With the latter of organization, you better have at least 5 articles in the works that you're constantly refining to post 1-3 per week.

With my tourist blog, it sometimes took a month to write an article, but I still had 5-15 in the pipeline that I could knock out in 1-5 days each. So, I'd have to focus my energy on different topics at the same time.

It does take a while to rank, and once you're in the niche, $100 as @Shawn Gossman isn't out of the question once you have loyal readers or rank for things that you might necessarily think are worth ranking for (1-10 Google searches but high competition $1.50+ keywords).
