What would it take for you to use MyBB as your first choice for free software?

What would MyBB have to offer or change to make you make this your first free software choice?

No, mybb was never my first choice of forum software. smf was my first choice, then vBulletin though.

With the plethora of better scripts (most more modern feeling/looking) there is no way I'd use myBB. If I wanted a "free/open source" old style forum I would look at SMF.

For a nice, easy to manage and use forum script I really have gotten to enjoy NodeBB. The editor is different since it is mainly markdown targeted and BBCode is not "known" with it, so it does take some getting used to for those used to the older style forum editor formats that are in general use.
I need to spend some more time with it learning how to style it as it is different than what most are used to.

I originally started my poker forum with MyBB. I needed a mobile friendly theme so I switched softwares to Xenforo, and I never looked back.

I would choose SMF before MyBB if I wanted to use a free forum software.

I would choose SMF before MyBB if I wanted to use a free forum software.

I used MyBB, phpBB3, and SMF for a while to mess around with them, and out of all of those, I'd definitely choose SMF if I needed a free solution.
