Failing at Blogging

Definitely yes! I believe that I've failed woefully in being a blogger. I know that's because I never had the time to frequently publish contents and if you can't do that in your blog, it's dead as far as I'm concerned.

I tried blogging once in the past and it wasn’t my thing. I merged everything on over to my forum instead.
It's why some forum owners now make provision for a blog section in their forum. It's like having a two fronts to their community in which blogs helps a lot with generating organic traffic.

As a blogger though, I can tell when I'm on a forum with blog versus an actual blog. Forum blogs just don't feel like actual blogs. I feel like the majority of people probably realize that, as well. That's why "forum blogs" are typically so hard to draw the kind of attention that regular blogs tend to get.

I agree, but it only feels like a blog if they're using the blog add on itself. I don't see too many forums doing that. They just add a blog subforum and call it a day.

Which isn't technically a good idea. Andy's add on works great as a blog on for Xenforo forums. His add on caters to actual bloggers and is setup similar blogger/wordpress.

Yeah, that's the aspect which some of those forum owners have been getting it wrong for a while. Without using the blog add on, it's just like a section where they dump blog articles without any serious benefits coming from it.

I'm using his addon on another forum.

I got to be honest; I like the functionality of it. It does have a blog-feel to it. As that forum grows, I'm hoping the use of that feature also grows!
