Getting lurkers to start posting

How do you all go about getting lurkers and zero-post members to start making posts?

What tactics have you used to onboard these quiet folks?

Just maybe an "Introduce Yourself" thread being made to be sticky am the most visible thread on the forum can make the lurkers start their journey with making a first post. It is low stakes enough for them to feel free to start.

It is a great idea to have interesting threads or topics. When they see them, they will likely to participate. In addition, an active forum can motivate them to join.

I don't have proven formula how to make them to start posting, but I have another one that works. I remove inactive users (this might not be a popular method, but it works for me)
