Have you ever been contacted by law enforcement to share user information pertaining to an investigation they're conducting?

If so, tell us about it -- well, at least the parts that you're able to do. Don't name any names, please.

If not, how would handle this sort of thing? We have to remember that some people will impersonate to get information if they can get away with it.

I have never been contacted by law enforcement officers over any kind of forum activities or about things I post on social media platforms.

Off online activities, I've been invited to the station twice. The first time was during my teenage years. We broke a man's car windshield and call the cops on us.

The second time was a follow up on the case I registered against someone who scammed me under false pretenses.

I work in gaming surveillance.

Per our state laws, we're directly involved in law enforcement-related activities for the gaming industry.

So, we conduct the investigations and maintain the evidence. Our specialized law enforcement agents make any arrests and show up to court when needed. We're considered "covert", so we don't have to go to court! :)

Anyways, everything happens through subpoenas. That would be the first thing I would ask for during a forum/law enforcement incident. That's the thing that legally binds things.
