For those of you who pay for forum advertising, what is your monthly budget?

When I unpause my ad spending tactics, I usually spend around $150 to $200 a month on ads.

I don't spend money advertising my forum. I have done this in the past but I no longer do it. Instead of promoting forums with ads, I like to hire good writers for my forums so that they can create search engine worthy and share worthy content. My spending differs, it could be anywhere from $10 to $50 per month.

I don't buy advertising for my forum. I advertise my forum using free methods such as social media. I also have a pretty cool relationship with a poker site where I'm an affiliate, and they give us a free tournament for our members daily which is also free advertising for my community. They have our banners on their site/poker client too.

I think collaboration is one of the best ways to advertise.

What you're doing is a great example of that.

I don’t spend any money on advertising, as I prefer to use free marketing tactics, such as promoting on social media, Reddit, other forums, Tumblr, and Twitter & Bluesky.

I also promote the games I play, especially when other users are looking for similar ones.

I do paid ads here and there.

I'll usually have a $100 to $250 budget when I do it.

However, I try to have a goal with each campaign. Some goals are for monetization with higher profit amounts (typically on my blogs) and others are for metric enhancements (member count, subscribers, impressions, etc.)

Social media ads have worked better for me over the years. I find it easier to target audience segments on social versus Google or other search engines especially for a forum.
