Thinking about starting a blog?
You should do it. It allows you to be creative, build your niche authority, and expand your knowledge in related industries.
You’ll need traffic though. And you’ll probably want to make some money. I’ll show you how to do all of that using a proven framework and three simple steps.
All you have to do is make the first step.
The framework is very simple:
1. Year 1 (Phase 1) is about creating content and growing your email list.
2. Year 2 (Phase 2) is about marketing your forum and growing your readership.
3. Year 3 (Phase 3) is about creating passive income and making money with your blog.
You’ll definitely have to keep creating content into year 2. You’ll have to keep creating content and marketing your forum into year 3. By the end of year 3, you’ll be an established blog.
Most new businesses don’t see exceptional growth and profits until after around 3-5 years of their initial launch. I’m using the same concept. I’m using it because it works for businesses, and it works for blogs.
I suggest you use WordPress self-hosting software for the best experience. Get a nice theme and customize it with your logo and branding. Install basic plugins but don’t overboard because they can slow your website down.
Create a newsletter by opening up an account on something like Kit or Mail Chimp. Create some kind of freebie (lead magnet) to lure people in to subscribe, like an e-book or a guide. Put your newsletter form on your blog pages and use a popup on every page to increase your subscriptions.
Create awesome content on a consistent basis. Try to batch a bunch of content first and schedule each post at least once a week to stay ahead of game but don’t forget to write more posts to keep being ahead. Make sure you use basic SEO strategies in your content and ensure that it solves the pain points of your readers.
After a year of writing awesome content, you have the social proof to share it with the world and some domain age. Start focusing on getting more readers on your content. Don’t forget to convert them into newsletter subscribers.
Create pages for your blog on popular social media where your target audience is at. Start conversing with them and building a community with your engagement and content. Promote your blog content and newsletter on your social media pages here and there.
Start engaging with other bloggers in your niche by reading and commenting on their blogs religiously. Do guest blogging on other blogs that share your niche. Try to collaborate with creators on social media and podcasters.
Consider some paid acquisition to promote your blog. You can do low budget ads on Google and social media to promote your blog. Just make sure you have a goal, and you meet that goal, so your money isn’t wasted.
The idea is to make money using passive income. This means that you’ll make money in the background without having to do a lot aside from the initial setting up of the income mechanism. It’s better to have multiple streams of income so that if one quits paying, you have something else to fall on.
Consider ad networks such as Google AdSense. You can put ads on your content and get paid for it. You don’t usually make a whole lot of money with this because Google is the middle person, but you can still make money behind the scenes.
Another good form of passive income is through affiliate marketing. You use affiliate links in your blog content, and you get paid if people use the link to purchase items or services. Many bloggers claim that affiliate links alone is one of the best ways to make money blogging.
Create e-books, templates, spreadsheets, and guide-like products to sell. You usually don’t have a middle person, but these items are usually fairly cheap. However, they can make for great income earners especially if they target the pain points of your audience.
Create courses, membership sites, and paid communities. These sorts of products are typically easy to get started but often require your participation. However, they’re a great form of income that can usually pay you big dollars in the process.
Create your own products and services for the best forms of profit. This is where there are no middle people, and you pick the price. If your products and services solve pain points and major problems, people will line up to buy them and make your wallet much thicker in the process.
It’s a great way to be creative. You can build an audience within your niche and grow your expertise. Finally, creating a blog is a great way to make money online.
So, will you be creating a blog? Tell us why or why not!

The 3-Year/3-Phase Framework
I’ve created and use my 3-year/3-phase framework for every one of my blogs and each one is making money. The framework is very simple:
1. Year 1 (Phase 1) is about creating content and growing your email list.
2. Year 2 (Phase 2) is about marketing your forum and growing your readership.
3. Year 3 (Phase 3) is about creating passive income and making money with your blog.
