Do you generally join a lot of forums as a regular member?

What type of forums do you like to join the most?

Yes I join different forums for different reasons, either as a place where I can get quality information from time to time, or a place where I can earn money.

I love to join forums mainly for the community aspects. I'm a social butterfly, lol. I like to meet new people and befriend them. :)

I enjoy participating in different forums where I can earn money while having fun. It allows me to discover new things that can help me improve, especially in online freelancing.

I join some for earnings and others for interaction. it's these two reasons mainly for me

I don't join a lot of forums, I use very few forums I am mostly active on social media and go yo forums only when I am bored on social media

Same here. I honestly can’t tell you how many forums i’m a member of😅
But, I’m only active on a few of them.
There are a lot of them that I'm no longer active on.

Some I try to come back but a few have those page takeover ads and it kills my will to engage. I noticed Digital Point Forums is using them now. I was going to try to become active on there again but those ads scare me away.

I use Adguard ad blocker so I never see any ads. I know a few sites use those ads. I am guilty of it myself. I didn't like them. Used to leave a site as soon as one popped up.

They bring in a lot of money so I turned them on. Don't know why they make money they just do.

I turned them on at most of my sites. Forum Squared still has them off for now.

I think it's because people click on them thinking they are a part of the site.

I disable that particular ad. I just can't handle it.

I'd use an ad blocker if I could customer what ads I block because I do like ads every now and then until it's the ones that interrupt my movement.

I join a lot of forums but I am guilty of not staying active. At least I can help out by boosting thier member count by one member and I do the pop-in when I can.

I have no problem with that. Sometimes a user will sign up and remain dormant for a few months. Then something triggers them to come back.

Glad you dont have a problem. Sometimes my account gets deleted if I don't come back soon enough on some forums.

I've never been able to justify deleting inactive member accounts.

Some people just lurk, and that's all they do.

I have a friend who lurks on my cycling forum. He's not even a member. He told me he would join but still probably just lurk.

Which ad company provides the page takeover ads? Is it Google AdSense’s Auto Ads, or a different ad company? I recently implemented Google Ads on my forum and tested the Auto Ads, but I turned them off immediately because they looked ugly.

I wouldn’t use the page takeover ads on my forum though.

It's auto ads by Google.

It's that one that pretty much turns into the next page you click where it's the whole page.

I disabled that on my sites that use adsense. I just can't stand it.

Some people are very apprehensive about what they say or do online. Others just don't really have anything to say I suppose.
